Hi Tim,
how time flys! Last time I saw you was in Oklahoma. Your mom can fill you in on the details.
Anyhow, I love your cozy looking restaurant and your web sigh. Certainly will drop in if I`m in the vicinity.
Best wishes and regards Ingrid

At Community Fundraising Books we look for the best restaurants in the areas that we serve. We stop in and try their food before we approach the owners of the restaurants to sponsor our program. 2 Dog Restaurant made the top of our list and we enjoyed everything that we tried and the atmosphere was just fantastic.

My friend, whom I haven't seen in a while, and I met for lunch today. Of all the places we could have chose, we both decided that 2 Dog was the best place to meet and catch up. We love the restaurant, the food, the wait staff, and just about everything else. There is no place in Gainesville that comes close to what makes 2 Dog special. We are so happy you chose Gainesville to call home!

This is a great local place. I love the shrimp and grits, and you can not go wrong with the pasta dishes. Don't forget to check this place out for lunch.

Although on the pricier side, it is very good food. The atmosphere is casual yet fun. They always have something new for their daily sides and specials - you can expect something creative and different every time!

We couldn't have been more surprised. The atmosphere was quiet yet kid friendly and we felt at home right away. Then we were greeted with slices of fresh made bread and an olive oil dip laced with whatever herbs were fresh from the garden growing behind the cafe. The wine was excellent. The soup changes and that day it wasn't the best (in fact, it was awful). However, all was forgiven when the amazing entrees arrived. ....Shrimp and grits with a homemade barbeque sauce topped with fresh asparagus ..... pulled chicken and grits with barbeque sauce topped with sweet red peppers ....pasta with shrimp and alfredo sauce filled with fresh oregano and basil from the chef's personal garden .... There were no words to describe how delicious the food was. The smell alone! Then we tasted it! The grits were creamy and the sauce was light and slightly sweet. Perfection! I highly recommend that everyone find their way to this little restaurant. It is completely different and worth the drive. I can't wait to go back.

Out of the way fun atmosphere. Locally owned and you can tell! Food prepared with care and creativity. Great wines that you don't see everywhere else. This place will not be confused with a chain restaurant! I had a whole raosted Flounder stuffed with crab meat. My husband had the organic ribeye steak with a smoked salt butter. The vegetables were from a local organic farmer. Wonderful evening with wonderful service.
